Hurrdat

Digital Content Intern · May 2015 - August 2015

At Hurrdat I worked with two other interns, acting as the digital copywriter for the team. I wrote social media posts, blogs and collateral for our sole client the Lincoln Parks Foundation. On top of this, I assisted the full-time team in developing and implementing creative strategy and client brand initiatives.

The Lincoln Parks Foundation is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department to help sustain and improve the parks system. Research shows that social media and digital marketing are the most cost-effective advertising tools a non-profit can invest in. During my time at Hurrdat, I worked with a team of interns to create compelling stories to increase awareness and donations.

Through the internship, I developed content including a Humans of New York style series, illustrations highlighting different parks, promoted events, a community photo contest, and shared interesting facts, articles, and programs offered.

Another facet of the work was to create a social media campaign for “Give to Lincoln Day.” We developed content to ensure awareness and increase donations while monitoring digital conversations and engaging with the community throughout the day.

Social growth and engagement was at an all-time high year over year. We had a 6,931% increase in followers, 3,354% increase in impressions, and 4,375% increase in engagement. For our work, we were won the Nebraska American Marketing Association Merit PRISM Award.

Emma has an infectious personality and an even more infectious work ethic, she loves digging in to projects and producing results. Over the course of her internship, I saw her grow to become an excellent content creator and copywriter.
