Various Roles · 2015 - 2016
During my college years, I built a foundation in social media strategy through hands-on experiences across multiple organizations. From managing university-wide platforms to developing award-winning campaigns for non-profits, these roles shaped my data-driven approach to social media management.
At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Communications, I pioneered the "What's Up Weekly" Snapchat story, which reached peak daily views of 72,927. This innovative approach to campus event promotion made bulletin board content accessible and engaging for students, generating up to 606 screenshots per day from interested viewers.
With the Lincoln Parks Foundation at Hurrdat, I led a team that achieved remarkable growth: 6,931% increase in followers, 3,354% increase in impressions, and 4,375% increase in engagement. Our work earned the Nebraska American Marketing Association Merit PRISM Award. We developed compelling storytelling series and managed successful donation campaigns, proving that strategic social media could drive real results for non-profits.
At Jacht, UNL's student-run advertising agency, I transformed their social presence with a 1,237% increase in Twitter engagements year-over-year. I introduced systematic analytics tracking, created recurring content series, and managed recruitment campaigns while contributing to a complete brand refresh.
My research-focused role at The Learning Child resulted in published work: the "Social Media Toolkit for Extension Professionals" and a Journal of Extension article measuring its impact. Under my management, Twitter following grew by 198%, Facebook by 50%, and post impressions more than doubled.
