Social Media Intern · February 2015 - July 2016

As an intern for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I assisted in creating social media content that was engaging, intentional, and fun. One example was the “What’s Up Weekly” Snapchat story.

A photograph of students running out of the tunnel at Memorial Stadium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, they are all wearing Nebraska Husker gear.

The most daily views ‘What’s Up Weekly’ received was 72,927, with a clear increase in views during my time working on the Snapchat story. The average number of screenshots varied each week; I believe this was because not every event would match a person’s interests. The highest number of screenshots we received in a day was 606.

With over 200 student organizations, various community groups, and tons of cluttered bulletin board around campus, it’s nearly impossible to find out about the multitude of upcoming events. Every Monday, I would snap pictures of upcoming event posters hung around campus and add them to the UNL Snapchat story.

Students could view and screenshot them if they were interested. We had incredible results and got great feedback from the community.

Emma is a rock star! She is a creative and analytical thinker, who gets work done from strategy to deployment with little oversight. Her execution is spot on, grounded in research and developed with a creative twist.
